Privacy Policy
Last updated October 23, 2026
VidAgent is a Mac app that edits your videos with AI. This policy explains what we collect, why, who we share it with and the choices you have. In short: your original videos stay on your device; we keep only what's needed to edit them for you, we don't sell it, and we don't use it for ads or tracking.
What stays on your device
The videos, photos and recordings you add, and the finished videos, stay on your device. VidAgent analyzes them on your Mac (for example, transcribing speech with Apple's on-device speech recognition) and renders your videos there.
What we collect
- Account: your email address and, if you use Sign in with Apple, your Apple account identifier (and name if you share it). We use Google Firebase Authentication to sign you in.
- Project details: for each video project, the results of the on-device analysis (transcripts of what's said, text seen in the clips, detected faces and moments, clip lengths), your project's name, plan and settings, the edits, and a list of rendered versions. These are stored on our server (Cloudflare) so the AI that edits your video can read them.
- Frames and previews, when an AI asks: while an AI is editing, it may request still frames or short previews of your clips to check its work. These are sent from your device through our server to that AI and are not stored by us.
- Connected apps: which AI apps (Claude, ChatGPT) you've connected and when they last used VidAgent.
- Each video's history and chats: the steps that made each video (who did what, and when), and, unless you turn off Keep chats with each video in the app's Account settings, the messages you sent about it to Claude, ChatGPT or VidAgent's chat and their answers, so you can see what each change was for. They're deleted with the video or your account.
We do not collect your contacts, location, browsing history or advertising identifiers, and we don't track you across other apps or websites.
Sharing with AI
Editing your video means sharing the project details above with an AI. VidAgent asks your permission before it does, and you can turn it off in the app (Account › Sharing with AI).
- VidAgent's built-in editor uses Anthropic's Claude. Your project details are sent to Anthropic under its commercial terms, which don't allow Anthropic to train its models on them.
- Your own Claude or ChatGPT, if you connect them, read your project details through VidAgent's connector when you ask them to work on a video. Your own account's terms with Anthropic or OpenAI apply to those conversations.
Who else processes your data
Google (Firebase Authentication, for sign-in), Cloudflare (hosting and storage) and Anthropic (the built-in AI editor) process data for us to provide the service. We don't sell your data or share it with anyone else, except where the law requires it.
How long we keep it
We keep your account and project details until you delete a project or your account. Deleting a project in the app removes its details from our server. Deleting your account (Account › Delete account) removes your account and everything we keep for it, and disconnects Claude and ChatGPT.
Your choices and rights
You can stop sharing with AI, delete projects, or delete your account at any time in the app. You can also ask us for a copy of your data, or to correct or delete it, by emailing support@videoagentapp.com.
Early access list
If you join early access on vidagent.app, we keep your email address (and when you signed up and roughly which country you were in) only to tell you when VidAgent is ready for you. We don't use it for anything else or share it. Ask us to remove it any time at support@videoagentapp.com.
Children
VidAgent isn't directed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect their information.
Security
Data travels over encrypted connections (HTTPS), and each account's data is kept separate on our server.
Changes
If we change this policy, we'll update the date above and, for significant changes, tell you in the app.
